<!--[if gte mso 9]> Daphne Hsu is an Associate with the firm's complex commercial litigation practice group.  Upon graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, Daphne joined Mayer Brown in Los Angeles where she gained experience working on complex litigation matters, including commercial disputes, employment defense, insurance, white collar crime, and class actions.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

• Third chair on a multi-million dollar breach of contract case, overseeing from discovery through trial. 
• Assisted in preparation of witnesses in an options backdating case for meetings with the Assistant U.S. Attorney.
• Interviewed fact witnesses in class action employment lawsuit. Spearheaded 50-state surveys on employment issues (e.g.
  definition of outside salespersons).
• Represented bank before Deputy Labor Commissioner in a wage dispute.
• Advised insurer on coverage issues.
• Represented investor in apartment developments in breach of contract suit.
• Pro Bono: Represented adoptive parent in adoption hearing. Analyzed possibility of including foster youth as a “qualified employee” under California Enterprise Zone program. Represented elderly in mortgage broker fraud case.
